My name is Karissa Jess. I’m a Dallas, TX–based narrator and voice actor, with audiobook work currently available on Audible.

I didn’t grow up dreaming of a microphone—but I’ve always been drawn to sound, storytelling, and the technology behind it. A high school career day visit from a radio DJ sparked my interest, followed by early hands-on experience with audio editing the old-school way—razor blade and all—where every cut had to be intentional.

Life took me through a variety of people-focused roles, including 25 years as a homeschool mom, before circling back to media through volunteering on my church’s production team. That quickly evolved into a leadership role, and I now serve as Creative Production Director, having led creative media and live production for more than 13 years.

After professional training and acceptance into a competitive, by-audition-only mentorship program, voiceover became the career I’d been building toward all along. When you work with me, you’ll hear a natural, conversational delivery backed by preparation, precision, and professionalism.
